Athletics Success

This weekend was a very busy one for one of our Year 6 athletes. On Saturday he represented the school in the Hertfordshire Schools Year 6 Six Hundred Metres Championships and ran superbly to finish fourth, after an extremely close finish. On Sunday he was competing with 800 other runners in the St Albans Half Marathon 5K, finishing ninth in the 11-17 age group. Well done!

National Gymnastics Success

Congratulations to Phoebe in Year 5 who, along with three other gymnasts, represented the Eastern region in a National Grade 4 teams competition in Stoke at the end of May. The team did brilliantly and came second. However, Phoebe did even better, and by the end of the weekend she had the highest score in Great Britain for range and conditioning, despite the fact that she was competing against older and more experienced gymnasts. A fantastic achievement!

Year 3 and 4 Inter School Sport

Thirty two Year 3 and 4 children went to Samuel Ryder School this afternoon to take part in a Potted Sports Festival. They had a great time and played mini games of basketball, endball, cricket and rounders. Well done to all those who took part; your behaviour, performance and sportsmanship were a credit to our school.

Inter School Girls Cricket

Well done to all the girls who represented the school in the St Albans and Harpenden School Games Cricket Tournament today at Clarence Park. We entered two teams and enjoyed some really good matches. One team narrowly missed reaching the semi final stages, beaten in a very close match against the eventual winners.
